Jennifer Hudson is coming back to television

Jennifer Hudson was first introduced to us on her television appearance as an American idol contestant and now she is coming back as a star on “Smash”.

According to the network, the academy award-winning actress has reportedly been booked to appear on multiple episodes on the NBC  musical drama.  “Smash” is on it’s second season.

This will be Hudson’s first professional work, as an actress, since the conviction of her former brother in law who was convicted for killing her mother, brother and nephew in 2008.

On “Smash” Hudson will co-star with another American Idol veteran, Katherine McPhee.

Hudson will play Veronica Moore, a Tony-winning stage actress who reached her dream of being on Broadway but also went through a lot to get there.
